Holiday Lights – Atlanta Botanical Gardens

My husband and I had been planning to go see the holiday lights at Atlanta Botanical Gardens for about four years. Each time something would come up and we wouldn’t be able to make it. This year, though, I was determined to go see them, and I will say this – it was worth it.

We went there in December 30th, which is a peak night, around 9 pm. The garden is open until 11 pm. Once you enter the park, there was a long line to the parking ticket booth, but since there were two separate lines, it took us about 10 minutes to get to the booth and an additional 10 minutes to find the parking. The entrance to Botanical Gardens is on the fourth floor of the parking deck. After parking the car, there was a five minute walk to the ticket area. You can buy ticket online as well, but if you’re buying your ticket the same day, you can’t purchase it online after 4 pm.

Once we had our tickets, we entered the park to look at the magnificent lights. We took our two year old daughter, and she was so excited looking at the lights. She was looking around with awe and going “Wow, so pretty!” And, when we got home and were about to take her out of the car, she went, “Thank you for the pretty lights. “. This just melted my heart and was a cherry on top the entire experience. So, these aren’t just for the adults but the kids enjoy the experience, as well.

There is a gift shop there too for the guests to purchase some souvenirs. :).

Here are some of the pictures I took, but they don’t really do justice to the actual experience. Let me know in the comments how you like these and how your experience was when you went to see the Holiday lights. Don’t forget to add this to your list of things to do next time you are in Atlanta during the holidays.
